Tutor: Keiko Mutsunaga

       Konnichiwa! I am Keiko Mustunaga.

I came from Japan to New Zealand in 2000 initially to study
at Waikato University. My studies consisted of Linguistics and Applied
Linguistics, including Second Language Teaching. I have been enjoying
a relaxed New Zealand way of life and beautiful New Zealand nature.

I am from an early childhood education teacher background in Japan.
In New Zealand, I have taught school children and adults, including
at a Japanese School in community Education classes. I like working with
children and enjoy seeing the progress in their development.

I have met many people from different backgrounds and I have been
enjoying communicating with people from different cultures. In my
spare time, I do exercise at the gym. I like flowers and arts too. I would
be able to introduce Ikebana (Japanese flower arrangement) and calligraphy
       to students as well.

Learning a language means learning about the culture as well. Japan has a
unique and interesting culture, so I would like to share this with students. The
class could include cultural learning consisting of origami, manners, Japanese
       songs, and games, etc.

I look forward to meeting you soon.
